About
I have experience working with religious trauma, perfectionism, self-esteem issues, self-harm, depression, and anxiety. I work with pre-teens, teens and adults. I am an LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent affirming therapist and, overall, will strive to be person-centered, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed in my work with you. I will also bring my warmth, openness, and playfulness into the therapy room for our work together! In addition to talk therapy, I offer a few unique embodied and creative approaches. After all, not everyone processes best sitting across from their therapist in a chair! I have a particular passion for integrating the natural world into the therapy session and absolutely love walking with clients along the Shoal Creek Trail, conveniently located right next to the office. In nature-based therapy, nature can act as a spacious backdrop to the session and/or an active participant in the therapy process, providing interconnectedness, belonging, and wisdom. Additionally, I have formal training as a Drama Therapist. Drama Therapy is an embodied and experiential form of therapy that you don’t need acting experience to engage with. It uses projection, embodiment, and role play to yield insight and transformation. My approach is based in role theory, a drama therapy theory that sees people as multifaceted beings who can sometimes get locked in certain life roles. The goal of role-oriented therapy is to help individuals expand the amount of roles they have access to in life in order to experience more flexibility in their life and relationships. I know that nature-based therapy and drama therapy are new to most people and not everyone will be interested in experiencing these ways of working. My #1 priority is to ensure that the approach we agree upon for our work together is something you feel really good about. My ultimate goal is to walk alongside you as a guide to help you connect with your own inner wisdom, growth, and expansion. I look forward to connecting with you!
