About
Utilizing patience, care, compassion, and empathy, I like to accompany the patient into their therapeutic journey reminding them of their strengths and their ability to grow and reach their goals. CBT and DBT are most often utilized using motivational interviewing and active listening. I also like to use creative art therapeutic techniques (writing, painting, drawing, storytelling, body movement, music, etc.) I have worked with veterans before and have an understanding of the ways in which the therapeutic relationship and treatment plans should be curated to best suit their needs and their lifestyle. Members within these occupations experience traumatic and stressful situations on a daily basis, and being able to help them navigate the emotions that stem from these exposures can help them maintain emotional wellbeing. I like to take the time to really get to know and understand my patient’s world and what they are wanting to tackle in sessions. Past patients have thanked me for being so receptive and trustworthy about topics that are very close to their heart. They have told me that the therapeutic relationship really felt nonjudgmental and the genuineness for which I asked questions and counseled them with was appreciated.
